About the Trainer:

Lauren Sprieser is a USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalist and professional dressage rider based out of Sprieser Sporthorses in Marshall, Virginia. Her enthusiasm and wit have made her a popular trainer, with students from the grassroots to the international levels in both dressage and eventing. She's also an acclaimed blogger for the Chronicle of the Horse, and writes regularly for Dressage Today.

After spending her youth on lesson horses at local riding stables, Lauren’s first foray into international-level dressage came with Bellinger, a lanky and tricky Trakehner gelding. Lendon Gray helped foster a tremendous partnership between Lauren and “Billy,” which led to Team Bronze at the 2003 NAYRC, and then open Grand Prix competition while still a Young Rider.

Later, Lauren and the Holsteiner gelding L’Etoile 6 earned both Team Gold at the 2005 NAYRC and the chance to train in Germany with Olympic Gold Medalist Monica Theodorescu and her Olympian father, Georg.

Upon graduating from college, Lauren spent a year as a working student for several exceptional trainers, including Olympic Bronze Medalist Carol Lavell, before setting up her own business. She quickly established herself as a top trainer across several disciplines and has become well-known for producing FEI horses, including:

- Clairvoya, Young Rider Grand Prix winner, 2009 USEF Festival of Champions
- Victorious, 4th at 2012 USEF Developing Grand Prix Championships
- Ellegria, long-listed for US Dressage Team at 2014 World Equestrian Games

2017 is a rebuilding year for Lauren, with her developing FEI horse Danny Ocean on the brink of Grand Prix and a group of young horses focusing on training rather than competition. Johnny Road will compete at Third Level in preparation for his sale and Danny is preparing for his Grand Prix debut in 2018. Throughout it all, Lauren focuses on her students, from Training Level to FEI, with attention to detail and correct training.
